Join us for our 16th Annual Honey Fest on Sunday, September 21st from 12-4 p.m.!
Our hard-working honeybees provide us with a sweet harvest each fall at the Indian Creek Nature Center. At this fun, family friendly event, you will experience how this sweet treat – that’s good and good for you – goes from prairie blossom to breakfast table. This year’s theme is “Bees in the Future,” and you will have the opportunity to talk with beekeepers and learn about the important role bees play in our food supply.
You’ll also enjoy:
- Kid’s crafts
- Beeswax candle making
- Educational stations and demonstrations – take a close look at a bee hive, learn how beekeepers manage their hives and harvest honey and what challenges they face raising bees
- See the amazing bee beard & bee bonnet (weather permitting)
- Live music
- Bee-licious Bake Sale (all goods made with honey) and honey lemonade
- ICNC prairie honey and other bee products will be available for purchase
$5 at the door; children 3 and under are admitted free.
Adult participants (Ages 13+) of the Bee Amazing Trail Run/Walk receive FREE admission! (Details below)
