Hungry for a Change: Food, Ethics & Sustainability is a six-session discussion course developed by the Northwest Earth Institute which explores food systems and our relationships to them. We'll examine the impact food choices have on our health and the health of our planet. We'll also consider the ethical and political implications of our food system and our personal food choices. Fee is $50 per person (which includes the required course book) or $60 for couples sharing a book. Registration is required by 4pm on Wednesday, Feb 22nd. Do you have questions about raising chickens you can't seem to get answered? Come and ask Dr. Darrell Trampel, ISU poultry extension veterinarian! Dr. Trampel responds to poultry health questions raised by producers, backyard hobbyists and veterinarians and serves as liaison between the ISU College of Veterinary Medicine and Iowa poultry organizations. Membership
Indian Creek Nature Center membership contributes toward:
- Environmental education programs for over 40,000 people per year
- Protection of open spaces; the Nature Center’s 210-acre nature preserve encompassing prairie, woodland, wetland and nature trails
- Purchase of plants, seeds, tools and equipment required for restoration projects
- Free or discounted program fees
- Discounts on Creekside Shop purchases
- Free admission to the Nature Center and its exhibits
- Quarterly newsletters mailed to you
- Free admission and/or discounts at other ANCA (Association of Nature Center Administrators) Centers
Membership Categories
Individual: $40/year. Individual Nature Center friends. purchase
Family: $50/year. Couples, parent(s) with one or more children; includes grandchildren. purchase
Student: $25/year. Students aged 21 and under. purchase
Associate: $75/year. A membership with an added gift. purchase
Lifetime: $800 one-time membership fee. These dollars are added to our Endowment Fund. purchase
All memberships, with the exception of lifetime memberships, expire in March each year. New members who join September through February enjoy the benefit of a membership longer than one year – expiration occurs during the second March following the join date.
